Terms of service

These terms apply when you use Insights. Read them before creating an account - they state what the service does, what it does not promise, and what applies if something goes wrong.

Who provides the service

The service is provided by Bmetrix Sweden AB, company registration number [org.nr], [adress].

Questions about these terms go to andreas.waleij@bossmetric.com.

Invitation phase and business use

Insights is currently offered by invitation to businesses and professionals. An invitation is personal to the recipient organisation and does not guarantee continued access, a particular feature set, or future commercial terms.

You may use the reports for internal product, publishing and portfolio decisions. You remain responsible for your decisions and for checking important conclusions against the linked source reviews.

What the service does

The service analyses published Steam reviews for a game you specify, sourced from Valve's public review endpoint (https://store.steampowered.com/appreviews/), and presents patterns and supporting reviews in a report.

You choose which game is analysed. The service needs no access to your Steam account, your developer backend, or any data that is not already public.

No affiliation with Valve

Steam is a trademark of Valve Corporation. Insights is not endorsed by, sponsored by or affiliated with Valve Corporation in any way.

The data comes from Valve's public endpoints. If Valve changes or closes them, the service may stop working in whole or in part, and that is outside our control.

What a report is - and is not

Reports interpret a sample of public reviews and can contain errors, miss context, attribute a problem to the wrong cause, or summarise a theme too broadly.

A report is decision support, not fact. You are responsible for verifying anything you act on or publish, for example against the reviews themselves.

The service does not guarantee that a report reflects a game's full review history. A run fetches the most recent reviews by default, and the report states which sample it is built on.

Acceptable use

You may not:

  • resell raw report output or fetched review data as your own dataset,
  • use the service to contact, pressure or harass individual reviewers,
  • attempt to identify, map or profile individual players from the report or the underlying data,
  • attempt to circumvent technical limits, rate limits or access controls in the service.

Confidentiality and sharing

Reports are private to your organisation unless you choose to share a report link. Treat report links and report contents as confidential business material and only share them with people authorised by your organisation.

You are responsible for anyone with whom you share a report link. Contact us promptly if a link has reached the wrong person so access can be withdrawn.

Availability

The service is in an early phase. We give no guarantee of uptime, response times, or that a run will finish within a given time. Maintenance and changes may happen without notice.

Liability

Our total liability for damage related to the service is limited to the amount you paid for the service during the twelve months preceding the damage.

The limitation does not apply in cases of gross negligence or intent. Under Swedish law such liability cannot be limited.

We are not liable for indirect damage, such as lost profit or lost data, to the extent permitted by law.

Termination and your data

You may stop using the service and ask for your account to be closed at any time. We may close an account for breach of these terms or if the service is discontinued.

When an account is closed, your runs, reports and account details are deleted within 30 days. Fetched reviews may remain, detached from your account, because they are shared between runs for the same game - ask us and we will delete those too.

Backups may hold data slightly longer, but are overwritten on a rolling basis.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. Material changes are announced by email or in the service before they take effect. The date at the top shows when the text was last changed.

Governing law and venue

Swedish law applies. Disputes are heard by Umeå tingsrätt (Umeå District Court) as the court of first instance.
